Quality Improvement Scotland Report

NHS Quality Improvement Scotland was set up by the Scottish Parliament in 2003 to take the lead in improving the quality of care and treatment delivered by NHS Scotland. NHS QIS does this by setting standards and monitoring performance.

The National Standards for Clinical Governance and Risk Management : Achieving safe, effective, patient focused care & services were published in October 2005. These standards are being used to assess the quality of services provided by NHS Scotland.
