Physiotherapy Services

The Physiotherapy service within the Glenrothes and North East Fife CHP is designed to address problems of function and movement in order to maximise potential.

Physiotherapy works in partnership with, and receives referrals from Consultants, GPs, other health care professionals and social work.

Physiotherapists have specialist knowledge and skills reflected in the areas in which they work. These specialist areas include:

Musculoskeletal Outpatients - referred from both Consultants and GPs, patients are managed both centrally within community hospitals and within GP surgeries.

Inpatient elderly rehabilitation which is managed within the community hospitals.

Domiciliary servicesare offered to patients within the community where the Physiotherapist visits patients at home.

Neurological Outpatients are seen within the community hospitals

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service and exercise classes for the elderly are held in both community settings and community hospitals

Paediatrics Service -patients are seen at home, at school or within clinics or community hospitals as appropriate.

Rheumatology patients are managed centrally by the Rheumatology service based in Cameron Hospital
